"Part A - The Location"
West Papua is located in Indonesia. You can see the Indonesia
country circled in green on the map, and circled in red is West Papua.
It is, indeed, a province of Indonesia, just like Jakarta, Sumatra, Borneo
and all the others. West Papua is currently fighting for their
independence. Indonesia is a very large country, and each of their
province have their own unique landscape and culture. You might
wonder what does the West Papua look like? Let's take a look at it.
West Papua has a great landscape to look at. Actually, most of the
land is the highlands. There are also tribes that live there. That is a
perfect location to hold challenges during the game. Most of the
territory is also filled with jungle.
The most interesting about West Papua is the culture. It is, with the
New Guinea island, the last place on the planet where you can still
encounter primitive tribes. They are just as primitive as during the
Stone Age. They use stone and bone tools, and they hunt with bows
and arrows. The most known tribes of West Papua are the Dani, Lani,
Yali, Asmat and more…
The Dani tribe lives in the Baliem Valley. They waited a long time to be
discovered. They were discovered by pure luck. The Dani tribe
inhabited one of the most fertile parts of West Papua. Therefore, they
often had to fight for their territory. They were the most dreaded head-
hunting tribe on the land. It is surprising if we take in consideration that
they didn't eat their enemies, like the other Papuan tribes did.
